salt for jardini

Im planning on performing surgery on my aro soon... i heard putting salt in tank will help prevent from infection after surgery...each fish is different so my question is what kind of salt? and how much? he's a10-11 inch jardini. thanks

Use aquarium salt.
0.1% concentration which is 3.78grams per gallon or 1 gram per litre.

table salt? i thought you aren't supposed to use ionized salts? I have sea salt(hawaiian salt), instant ocean aquarium salt, and salt in the salt shaker(i think its ionized. i want to use the right one

as long as its not ionized u can use table salt but id recomend getting some nice API aquarium salt or something if its for surgery

don't use instant ocean, that's marine salt. You need aquarium salt for freshwater aquariums.

so i called up the lfs and asked how to dose tank... it's 100 gallon tank. since i dont have a scale(grams) i need to know measurment using measuring cups. 1 lfs said 1 tbsp per gallon, and one said 1 tsp per gallon... which one is it?
