Can saltwater testkits be used for fresh water? Will it be acurate? My friend gave me his saltwater testkit which is still half full. The testkit is from Aquarium Pharmiceuticals and it does nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, and Ph.

I think the answer will be found in which tests each kit contains for the two... Kinda surprised this question didn't get answered...

The nitrite test should be ok for both but I don't think the ammonia or nitrate will work. I know the AP freshwater kit will not work on salt except for the nitrite test.
