Canada eh?
Ok so iv read on the net that if you put a little salt in ur paranha tank it will speed up heeling . My newest red belly was in a tank at the LFS cramed with others and he had a few nips on his dorsal and tail fin so i want him to heel quicky :)

My question is what kind of salt is best? table salt / sea salt.. i have bath salt that i think is sea salt?
And also how much should i put in the tank ??

Aquarium salt. You can get it at any lfs/petco/walmart. The package says a tablespoon per 5 gallons.

just buy any salt in bags that the only ingreedient is 'salt' and nothing else, no bonding agents or anything

ive just added salt to my aquarium because a few fish got white spot.. and a few died from it & i was ****tin myself hoping my sharks didnt die & theyre fine now.. phewww!!

I disagree with this guy.

You need TONIC AQUARIUM salt. It's super cheap and you can get it at the pet store. Table salt, cichlid salt, and marine salt, all contain buffers that can change your water chemistry. Tonic salt does too, but it's designed not to crash your tank.

Follow the directions on the package.

so 1 table spoon per 5 galons is reasanable?

I use regular table salt in mine and piranhas are healthy as ever. But i would follow their suggestions and get the advised aquarium salt. It's cheap, and your playing it safe.

Kosher salt is pure sodium chloride, and it's cheap. You can also use melafix to heal wounds.
