Salt of choice

I'm looking to grab some salt for raising tank salinity and general treatment of fish and illnesses as I gear up for some major aquarium expansion.

I was wondering what kinda salt you guys think is best and if you have a preferred brand.

I'm under the impression that Water softener salt is what I want but I'm not really sure. I just want this on hand in the event of future breakouts, my roommate is going to Sams club today to grab what ever it is you recommend.
