Salt or no salt

I have read different views on adding salt to freshwater tanks. I was wondering how many use salt and how many don't? Also how much per gallon for new set up?

Yeah, Ive also heard that using salt regularly it could produce salt-resistant parasites. So I only use when needed.

That depends so much on the species you keep and the amount you'd add, that the poll is basically worthless... (sorry to say).

I use salt only for ich treatment or fish injury (big fish get spooked)

1 tablespoon per 10 gallons (which is a half nomral dose)

if the ich is still bad, I add the rest of the dose.

Only for treatment. Salt does create salt-resistant pathogens. They become too used to the presence of the salt thus they are more trouble than the non-resistant ones are worth. State your reasons why you use salt all the time.
