A long way from Amphioxus
So this is just a heads up. I may be buying a 240 that is set up for salt. I dont do salt, so I will be selling all the salt stuff (lights, protein skimmer, LR/LS, fish, ect).

I dont know for certain if I will be getting the tank, but I am going to look at it tonight and if it is as nice as it looks I will pick it up.

I will sell the stuff for a fair price, not trying to get rich, just minimize my loss. If it has many fish (the guy hasnt told me if he still has the fish or not) I will be will be willing to trade them for freshwater fish or other cool stuff. Really I open to most trades.

If I buy this tank, I will be selling/trading my 270. So I will update this tonight when I get home and tell you what I am doing.

What are the dimensions of your 270g?

Ok, so I went and looked at the tank and have decided to get it. My biggest problem right now is finding homes for the many (2-300) hermit crabs and snails. I would love to sell them for something like a buck a piece, but if I am unable to find them homes on here or on craigslist I may have to give them away.

The follow is a list of things that I will have for sale, after I get it picked up. Details are to come after I get an exact list of everything. This is just the things I remember seeing when I was looking at it.

Critters

- a bunch of snails

- a bunch of hermit crabs

- about 3 cubic feet of live sand (enough to fill the 8x2 foot tank 2.5 inches)

- some live rock, but I may keep it along with a few snails & crabs

- bio balls from the sump that are already cycled (for some reason I feel like it is a waste letting the bacteria die, lol)

Equipment

- two 30ish gallon sump/ w/d filters

- two large skimmers w/ pumps

- one little giant pump (not sure of gph, but will find out when I get it)

- one amazing light fixture, it has three MH bulbs along with 4 PC bulbs

- heaters (I dont really expect anyone to want used heaters, but its worth a shot)

My 270

Right now I have a 270 gallon glass tank measuring 72x36x24 (a great size for monsters). It is made of 1/2 inch glass with a double pane bottom. It is only the glass, no extras.

Right now, my biggest priority is finding homes for the snails, crabs and sand. I would hate to see these things die due to my lack of salt water experience, plus I need some cash, lol. If you are interested in getting some critters PM me and I will tell you when I am picking this all up and hopefully I will be able to give them to you before I leave denver (I live in the springs).

I am open to offers, but when I get the time I will determine prices for everything. I will be posting most of this on craigslist also, so if for some reason I forget to update this thread, check the colorado springs craigslist.

If you have any questions just PM me or email me (jmart.cooper@yahoo.com) and I will try to answer all your questions. Once again other than the 270 these objects aren't in my possession as of yet, but they soon will be.

Jon

So I am picking up the tank on sunday around 9 or 10 in the morning. If you are interested in getting anything or just would like to look, we could meet in denver somewhere around 12 or 1. I would really like to get the live sand, hermits and snails off my hands so I may be willing to give some good deals to my MFK peeps. I am already meeting someone up there who is taking 20 of the hermit crabs so when I figure out where we are meeting I will post it here and yall can feel free to show up and take a look.

If you have any questions PM, email me.
