i got a sump pump for free it was in salt water how long should i run fresh water through it before i can use it on a freshwater tank it is 2200 liters per hour.:nilly:

bump its been running fresh water for 3 hrs plus

you should be fine to use it unless you detect salt in the water still I would take apart and clean real good and be careful of impeller and all the fragile stuff.

How is the plumbing setup for the intake and outtake to the display?

im thinking of an overflow cause i don't wanna crack the tank by drilling.ill figure out more when i get the tank setup and running this saturday

well drilling isn't too hard but you need a good diamond drill bit and a overflow isn't a bad idea either once you find a overflow you like post it and we can find a good pump for it

i have been looking in the diy section im thinking of making a 2 PVC ones at 3/4 an inch..

the pump will pump at 2200 liters flat out im thinking of running tubeing a max of 3.5 feet of the pump will that work? sry if my questions are annoying ive never made a sump. it seems very efficient

what pump is it your looking at? sound's like it would be fine and your question's aren't annoying at all.
