It is my understanding that you can make a small solution of salt water to kill the unwanted snails that commonly come on live plants. BUT how long should you dip the plants? Is there any plants you shouldn't dip?

you can use vinegar to do the same thing. 15 seconds will be fine. Keep the roots out of the vinegar. Bunch plants should not be dipped, as you risk them sucking up the vinegar and killing themselves.

What about Driftwood? i have a big peace with java all around it.
