I caight a Goby its all brown and really tiny lke a cm. in my minnow trap today. That water is salt water. Iusually let my fish play with them from time to time. The minnows survive for a while in freshwater. Could this goby survive in freshwater? its at the bottom bouncing around the sand searching the tank now. will try to get pics

They'll live for a while, but most need brackish at least. There are only a few actual freshwater gobies.

that sucks its cute... i may have to get a 10g brackish going just for him

I picked up a little female Stiphodon sp. goby at my LFS the other day, I think it was one of those random things that was mixed in with other fish they ordered. They are some of the few gobies that can live in freshwater, but I know they at least need saltwater as fry.

There are some pics on this page if you search for stiphodon http://www.loaches.com/articles/is-this-the-best-loach-shop-in-the-world

I'd say if yours doesn't look similar in body type to those, then it's probably not gonna live real long in freshwater.
