My convict spawn and the fry are free swimming for 2 weeks now. Suddenly the male decided to attack and chase the female. More info on my other thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=414018
the female is hurt bad. She has ripped tail, fins and she cant balance properly. There are some white stuffs i presume is slime coat coming off her body and face. Now she is in one of those breeders nets at the corner of my tank. The male cannot get to her. The male is now taking care of the babies. so anyway, i plan on adding some salt for the female but is wondering will it kill the fries?
Im going out of town tmr and the day after. unfortunately i cant change that last minute now. They are in a 40 gallon and the other only inhabitant is a turtle. The turtle is afraid of the pair lol. but anyway i was wondering should i keep the male in the breeders net instead, and let the female recover in the tank? My only fear for this solution is that the frys might be eaten by the turtle since the female is too weak to guard them now. How much salt should i dose for the female and at the same time, safe for the frys?
