which one is better? any pros and cons guys?

synthetic sea salt is a good idea because there wont be any diseases or parasites or any bacteria in it. with natural seawater you get pollution from boats, all kinds of foreign materials and what-not. LR is kinda the same thing, but it goes through a cleaning process that makes it a less risk item. same concept with fish though, wild cought specimens can have infections that were not familier with. something to consider.

I think they're referring to the Catalina Water Company Natural Seawater. It's sterilized and purified. No foreign materials at all. As well as nitrate and phosphate free. Comes in a 5 gallon box at Petco and high end LFS sell it by the gallon. If thats what they're talking about. . .there is nothing wrong with that water. It's expensive I'll admit that. I use it when I've got a ton of cash and/or feeling lazy lol. You do notice a difference when you use it. Many of my friends and clients do partials with it instead of RO water every few months in reef ranks just to reap the benefits. . .or if they're loaded and feeling lazy ;)

But as I said it's expensive and not "needed" by any means and RO water w/ salt mix works just fine. If you choose to use it. . . yes it's beneficial. . .but so is doing a water change with salt mix.:grinno:
