Waiting for the AIs and fuzzy dwarf to get in!

I’ll likely finish this off with a tiny yellow tang or white tail tang. Will be dosing all for reef and letting it rock for a few months before the softy garden gets put in

specs:

waterbox 65.4
Since Syncra sdc 3.0
Vortech MP10s x 2
Eco TeBatter backup
AI prime 16 Reef x 2

I’ll never look at the ease and cost of freshwater in the same way ever again in my life ?

A little update here: good & bad, mostly bad

I added a custom eurobrace with ASI silicone and let it cure for about two days. I was getting a 1/8th inch bow so I reduced the water level to 40% and the bow was completely gone.

Now the bad, the clowns I got came with ich - what better way to start off. And to make things even more fun, I had ordered a white tail tang off Marine Collectors (they QT the fish with a pretty solid protocol) and it arrived before I ever saw the ich. So now the tang is infected too!

Since I don’t have corals or inverts yet, I decided to do the hypo-salinity method (dropping the salinity from 1.026 - 35 ppt to 1.009 - 12 ppt over 48 hours and holding for 30 days). I’m currently 24 hours in and at 18 ppt or 1.014 salinity. I’ve been dropping it about .002 every 5gallon water change which makes me laugh at all the drip acclimation people do for fish. I completely understand for shrimp and corals though.

Anyways that’s my update - I have a few pounds of live rock coming from gulf live rock and TB saltwater coming in the next few weeks so that will be fun. Can’t wait to see what problem I cause myself next :)
