Target fish. 5 of them came in the store today, 1 died soon after introduction into the system, so I bagged the rest of the 4 home.

They're still acclimating but immediately ate all the blackworms (notice the big stomach).

Guess how much I paid for them...? :)

Ming, I'll be very interested to hear how these do in your tank. I believe these require a good amount of salt in the water. I bought some of these a few years ago, and was told they would be ok in fw, but they died very quickly. I've since spoken to people who have kept this fish for long periods of time, and they always had them in brackish conditions. Good luck with them though - they are awesome looking fish.

they wont live long.

what did you pay? 5 bucks? thats what I paid when I had a few.

When they came in, the supplier specified that they are brackish water fish, capable of living in saltwater also. But our supervisor decided to put them in the African cichlid system with monos and orange chromides.

I saw they were eating frozen bloodworms pretty eagerly (as you can see, they are pretty emiciated), so I bagged them home. From the looks of it, they're doing pretty good.

My tank currently holds slight amount of salt due to some minor injuries on my goslinia catfish, so hopefully that'll provide enought salinity for the target fish and I will slowly decrease the salt level and see how they do.

Ming, I think decreasing the salt level is a bad idea. And the level you have in there now is probably not enough. Also what is your pH? I wouldn't keep these at anything below 7.8. Preferably even a little higher.

What is your pH, Ming?

The last time I checked, it was slightly above 7... don't remember exactly.

I will have it tested Thursday when I go to the store, I have to make sure the water is pristine for the stingray anway. :)
