Hey Im looking for some educated help on my first saltwater tank (fish only with live rock).
I will be using a 46 gallon bow front. With a Fluval 405, couple of powerheads, heater, all the basic good equipment. No protein skimmer quite yet... eventually will gat a hang on one.

I know the basics in starting the cycle, but I'm not too sure on what my best fish stocking options I have after my tank has cycled. Clowns? Tangs?... How many of each... so on and so forth.

Im looking for for some good options and advice. Can anyone help me out?????

why did u make so many threads?
but anyways
once you have cycled the tank
you could get some clowns, mabey some smaller wrasses like a six line, mabey some inverts like shrimps and some stars
honestly... theyre aare so many posibilities in your tank

tangs are definately too large
a 46 bow is like 36 inches long

fairy wrasses
lined wrasses
flasher wrasses
pretty much all gobies
smaller hawkfish
most dwarf angels
grammas
jawfish
firefish
clownfish
damsels
chromis
blennies
small serranid basses
pseudochromis and dotybacks

of those listed above i'd say like 6-8 of them should be good depending on which ones you choose

something like 9 damsels in the tank is asking for trouble as are lesser known problems like mixing gobies, jaws, and firefish, or grammas and hawkfish

you can always have a dwarf lionfish. they are suffice in a 29G.u can use guppies and goldfish as feeders. freshwater fish will live 10minutes -3hrs depending on wq.

:banhim::irked: FAIL!

and a couple of days does nothing for a quarenteen
not to mention a quarenteen is superfluous for FW feeders as FW parasites wouldn't survive in SW anyway

it is indeed their nutritional devoidance that is their ultimate downfall
