they are not endangered in my part of the world. i catch them all the time and they taste great. it is called monk fish or ocean catfish in markets. they live in deep water over rocks

your thinking of a different fish called a monk fish. These guy's are on the endangered spices list and if you see them sold you should report them to the local fish and game.

These fish are so cool, whenever I see them on tv in a show or something I always stop to watch it. I've seen them just eat lobsters, the grab it and just smash it to peices and eat it. Now that is a monster
