I currently have x2 salvini and a x2 texas stocked! All juvies
New to both!
Was a lucky find as iv never seen them here in South Africa before!
Had to buy them:nilly:
Looking to get more bottom feeders soon :)

Any thoughts on this or info will be appreciated :)

Watch for aggression, salvini are evil little things but very pretty. I've never really kept Texas cichlids of any variety but they do get bigger than salvini and can be aggressive. You could add something like giant danios or silver dollars for distraction and make sure you have enough hiding places for everyone

They were put in there tank today! So far all is peaceful! Tones of hiding places.. They so small for the tank at the moment they hardly cross paths

Stick w/ the SD. Balas do get huge. Sounds like the cichlids are are small, so you won't see any aggression for awhile. You might be ok, but if you get a pair of either the aggression will be bad. A lot of hiding spots will help a lot.

That's my worry at the moment, but have other tanks in case of emergency!
The bottom of my tank is covered with rocks.. have like a cave network :)
