Saw a great looking Salvini cichlid at my lfs and am thinking about picking it up, but am trying to figure out how aggressive the fish is. The stuff on the web ranges widely. I know all individual fish are a little different, but what is the Salvini similar to in general? GT? Severum? JD? Jaguar? Butti?

I think they are more aggressive than dempseys in general, among the most aggressive of the smaller Central American cichlids

Ok, I have an 8" JD, a 12" CK, a 6" Indo Dat and a 20" Aro. I assume adding the salvini shouldn't cause things to get too crazy.

it shouldnt, i have found Salvinis to be fairly aggressive but not overly, kinda like a convict, but with more power behind it then a convict, so they could be taken as more aggressive in that sense, id say ti should work fine for you.
