Whast is the typical growth rate of a salvini? I need to bulk the little guy up before removing the divider in my 55 so my gt doesnt rapes him.

yeah they grow fairly quick..but it all depends on water quality, and food, and of course awesome fish rally

what is the best thing to feed him to bulk him up? i have heard feeders are do the job but i dont want to go there. I thought he would be ok in there cause i read that they ave some balls but this one maybe not so much.

I fed mine mainly HBH super cichlid sinkers.

I avoid feeders too. For some reason I think it increases their agression toward other fish in the tank by "teaching" them its ok to eat other fish... i know its natural for them, but thats just my O.

I've had the best luck increasing size/body mass by feeding earthworms. The female sal I had was growing like a weed and never turned one down. Would come half way across the tanik to steal it from my GT (who eventually killed her). Think like a body builder...PROTEIN IS GREAT!

try worms!!:D

thats why I chose the HBH. High protein :)

My guy gets flake every morning and shares a prawn tail in the evening( finely chopped)
all my fish go nuts over the prawn and where I live the cost is less than bloodworm and 20 times the food value
I know this is an old thread but I hope this info is some help

Cheers:naughty:
