My salvinis spawned about a month ago. There are about 75 1/2" fry swimming all around the 55 gallon tank and the parents still defend them.
I always heard that males will often turn on the female after breeding and can even kill her, but I'm experiencing the opposite. My female is nipping fins and bumping mouths with the male, and he doesn't retaliate.
I must need to separate them again. Will the fry be safe if I do? Do the females do this often?
