I dropped by the lfs this afternoon to pick up a few corries but when I was there I came across this guy

Right now I'm thinking male but I'm not %100. If you know or think you may know please chime in!

He's a little beat up, he was in a tank with 3 other sals his size (about 6"), as well as a few jags ranging from 4 to 8" and a couple of silver dollars.

The manager there says that he ordered them as wild caught and that this is how they came in a few days ago. He's definitely been fighting by the look of his mouth.
I am currently treating him in my quarantine tank (20 tall). I plan on dosing melafix and pimafix along with daily 25% water changes for a week. Then another week or two of 86F. and a little salt.
After a few weeks of healing I'm sure his/her personality will start to show and his/her fins should heal right up.
I am however wondering a bit about his color. I will admit he appears a bit plain in comparison to some of the Google images of Salvini and I hope that with the right environment and diet will he will color up and show his true potential.
Any advice, info, comments or etc. is as always greatly appreciated.
