Salvini sexing

hello, ive been doing some research on how to sex salvini's but ive been getting conflicting information like some sites say females are more brightly colored then some sites say males are. they all seem to agree that females have a dark spot on the middle of the dorsal fin and a dark spot by their gills. is any of this right? can anyone tell me an accurate way to sex them or have pics that might help clue me in? any info appreciated, thanks

The easiest way that I have found is females typically have a black dot on their gill plate. In this pic, female on left, male on right.

thanks, i recently purchased one, its about 2 1/2 maybe 3", i would have posted a pic but my camera really sucks
