Salvini tank mates??

What kind of tank mates can i put in with Sals?? i know the aggression they have,, just would like to know what is (possibles),,it is a breeding pair i have just now in with a few dollars nn a couple of small cons,,what else though??????

p.s the male is 6 inch the female 5" in a 100 gallon tank...
 
Welcome to MFK. If the cons develop and pair up, you will probably want to keep it limited. You will basically have a trap at each end of the tank for any other fish. Jack, jag, tex, devil, something along those lines. Basically something that can hold it's own.
 
i aggree. with mated pairs of Salvini and Convicts (unless you just have same sex convicts)

You could run into trouble with tank mates. Dont pick anything wussy like an Oscar, maybe a Jack Dempsey? They tend to hide in logs and stuff, so you could add a good hiding place for a JD.

Or possibly more dithers of some sort.
 
i have mine with all sorts of ca/sa's - aggro and semi aggro. he protects his cave in the center of the tank and chases anything that comes near it away, but doesn't attack or kill anything. around 3-3.5"

anything during breeding is going to be overly aggressive though
 
Sals and Cons...vicious. Get some dithers like Giant Danios.:)
