Well, My salvini cichlid,Hades, claimed his first life today. Woke up the other salvini ripped apart. Decided to go ahead and take the divider out and introduce him to the oscar and jaguar. I also got a jack dempsey to try with him but he is picking on him. Hope this works better! what other fish go good with salvinis?
here is a video of him with the dempsey http://youtu.be/sTu2vB0LfqU

Salvini's are in the "Very Aggressive" category, so pretty much anything can go wrong when it comes to these little demons.

However, it all depends on your tank size, decor, individual temperaments... I was going to get a Salvini for my 135, but the individuals I saw for their size seemed just as, if not, more aggressive than the Managuenses, Motaguenses, and Red Devils. I decided to get the Motaguense instead. (Could be a big mistake!) but time will tell.

How big is your tank? I think the Salvini will end up bullying the Oscar if your not careful. Even at that size, they harass.

Definitely as if not more aggressive as those other cichlids man! I've never had a fish that small kill something I think it's only a countdown until he slaughters my managuense

I don't believe salvini belong in any cichlid community, unless the tank is over 300 gallons.
Of course there may be exceptions, but lb for lb, they are more aggressive than any other new world cichlid.
A mated pair alone, in a large tank, with a giant school of Mexican live bearers, providing them extra food, and are regularly replaced, is the only reasonable way I would keep them again.

LOL!

LoL, just cilantro and chopped onions please. Beans and rice make the burrito too heavy.

Just an fyi, my mom is from Michuacan, Mexico and my dad is Polish and Armenian.... So i claim racial immunity on behalf of my Arbeanian roots, lol.
