Alright so I just picked up a male salvini from someone who I thought knew what they were doing when it came to fish keeping.. Obviously not because upon getting this guy in my tank, the first thing I noticed were small pits or legions on the Sals forehead and a couple at the start of the lateral line. They don't look too severe tho, and the fish is acting just fine. So now that the fish will be fed a quality diet and have real good water quality with me, with the HITH clear up by itself since it doesn't seem too bad? Add salt? Here's a pic, the holes you can see in the pic are between the eyes

If i were you, I would treat with Metronidazole or 3% magnesium sulfate (epson salt) to help clear up the hexamita aka spironucleus.

Thanks, I've ears that magnesium sulfate works wonders against hex. But I've heard different ways to use it.. Do you add a certain amount to the water? Or do you soak pellets in an Epsom salt mixture then feed to fish? If so, how strong shud te mixture be?

Add 1 tablespoon of magnesium sulfate to 500milliliters of distilled water, stir and soak the pellets in it for 15 minutes.
