Hi,
I wouldo like to know if, May i put 3 salvinis with 1 red devil(3 inches), 1 blood parrot(3inches), and 1 oscar(11 inches), in an aqua with 56 gallons ?

56 gals is wat too small for all those fish. As the RD get bigger it will probably get more aggressive and will attack it's tankmates. In fact the ocar and the rd are too much for your tank and should each be housed in larger tanks.

There shouldn't be much more in a 55G than a big oscar anyways...depending on filtration of course. It is true, as the RD gets bigger, nothing else will be able to live with it in a 55g...that's my past experience anyway. Even just leaving out the RD for now could work temporarily. Salvin's cichlids are nasty and can hold their own...though if a pair forms, the odd man out may take a beating. The salvini would outclass the blood parrott too...nasty weapons on the salvini. If you really want a mix of these fish, I'd have the oscar, and perhaps try the salvini, but leave out the BP and the devil. Not the ideal setup, but may work and be an interesting tank to watch.

I agree 100%

I would say only the Oscar in their, I feel the Salvini's would harrass him almost to death, since they are quick with razors for teeth.

3 salvini and an oscar in a 56 is pretty tricky. i'd just go with one or the other.

Carlos,

First, it's nice to see you here, my friend. Be welcome. :grinyes:

Second, I changed my mind about "not-so-aggressive" salvinis... Some of them are just devils even when not breeding. My 6 cm juvie almost destroyed my 16 cm temporalis in four days. If you decide to go with them, be careful about your oscar.

Best regards.

Daniel.
