I haven't heard of any stories, I don't think tropicals would survive there being too cold and all. Where did you hear about the giant gourami?
To be a non-native is doesnt have to be a tropical fish, many north american fish are transplanted from one end of the country to another, and fish like the brown trout and carp were origionally from europe.
that's true but the lake is man-made so every fish in there would be considered non-native.
thats true too...maybe Importracer means fish not native to the state of California
Further research says that I was wrong and it wasn't man-made at all. I always assumed it was man-made because they stock it every now and then with trout. Found this site with pretty good info on the lake http://bss.sfsu.edu/holzman/lakemerced/fish.htm.
Alot of rivers and lakes are stocked w/ trout, they dont have to be man made lol, but around here every now and then people pull up a tropical fish.

, whatever.....I look in that lake and think that there has to be snapping turtles and some other unwanted shibby living in it.....One thing for sure is the high level of lead in that water/sand/soot...SO really don't eat anything from there....

That lake was Cherry Creek, the same place that a pacu was just caught out of a few weeks ago lol
