sand and goldies

is it a good idea to have a substrate as sand in a goldies tank..... its a grabular type of sand.....

the tank am talking about is my cichlid tank but cause of some reasons i need to give away my cichlids.... hence am thinking of converting this tank to a goldie tank.....

any help would be great

fancy golds or like comets? just wondering.
yeah i've had mine on sand before and they seemed to do ok. they like to pick food off the gorund and somethimes they suck sand up as well but it never seemed to hurt them.

Yeah mine are on sand and they seem to love filtering through it and spitting it out. They do it all day, they keep it very clean. However, they poo a lot so I would go for darker sand, because on white/yellow the poo looks pretty bad.
