For years i had my bichirs on some fine gravel. You guys said i should use sand. I use sand now in my new bichir setup. Now i put my bichirs in their new home and what happened?! They look like they are covered completly with sand! Only their face and fins are free of it! I hope thats just because the slimecoat was disturbed when i put them from one tank in the other...will that shred??? I heard you guys and now such a stuff happenes! What if my bichirs die now? I have most of them since years.

Calm down bro, im sure they'll be ok ive had my bichirs get sand stuck to them before with no detrimental effects to the fishs health
It's fine, it's just because they stirred up some and it got on them, happens all the time, it will fall off as they swim/go up for air

I hope you are right.. My small ornate female looks like she was breaded like a Schnitzel. Does that stuff shred off?
they started swimming around now. I switched off the light to calm them down. So far they seem to like all those drift wood.
its pretty fine river sand. Another thing i noticed that they now play out the power game again...My ornate took a bit chunk out of my laps tale. Nothing serious and it will regrow...i guess they battle it out now who gets the best places in their new home.
