I'm trying to decide if i should leave my tank as is with the Tahitian Black moon sand or go with the white silica sand i used to have in it. Below are a picture of each. I'm just going to have a few larger pieces of driftwood and some 6-7" dia river stones. pretty much as is minus the smaller riverstones.
Tank is for a RTC

i chose black, just for the fact that the RTC looks good on black.

I think it depends on what you want to stand out more?
Fish or Decor

With the wood tank and black back, I would do white. I like the light colors with fish. I have white 3M T-grade sand in my 300 (here is a side shot) and to me I think it looks great. Also it motivates me more when I see the poop to clean my tank more (even with the 50% H2o change every 5 days).

I think white gives more detail to a tank
I will be getting a stronger light so it should make a diff in the look

JMO:D

White sand/ black backround. I have a tank like this. I also have one with black gravel and a black backround. The white/ black one looks way better.

Black sand. I admit that having a Black background and Black sand may be a bit dark, but I like it.

JMO... I also think that if your fish have nice bright colors that with everything black would make them darken up and with white/black combo it would make them change their colors more often and easier to see in the tank

Just an idea:D
Atleast it works for me with my GATF and Juruenese Cat
