Sand colour

Hey guys,

Can I ask opinion on sand colour? Plan on having black background to add depth, the stock will be a couple of blood parrots, and a GT, so reds, yellow, green colours mainly.

My first thought is black, but also tempted to go natural colour. Probably a pedantic topic but curious as to what people think?

black would look fine, or a lighter tan sand would work as well.

Quite interested in the lighter tan sand, does anyone have pics of their tank with black background and tan sand? Or different colour sand with black background?

Same tank with same back ground one with white sand the other with black. I like the looks of the white sand better but the fish I have in there look better with the black sand.

Personally I really really like the black sand with a blue background I used to have black with white sand but after doing my 10gallon with black on sand and blue background I like that a lot better and can't wait to redo my 45 and 90 like tnH

Here's my 150, painted black background and tan pool filter sand. It has just been set up so there's still sand dust sticking to the glass making it look a little lighter.

I'm a fan of the black background and lighter sand. I use pool filter sand, the brand is Aqua Quartz.
