Is pool filter sand good for plants can their roots spread through the sand it says it doesn't pack will it work for a 20 gallon planted tank for my rams

I have substrate gold laterite substrate additive which I rolled in to balls and put In the sand plus I have a liquid fertilizer(APPlus+ floraboost) what do you think with good light shall this provide for my plants also how much light do most plants generally need I'm thinking of a diy C02

Anyone tried that flourite sand?

Yeah, I'm using a combination of FLOURITE BLACK SAND and SEACHEM TAHITIAN MOON BLACK SAND in my 225. It's got a 50/50 mix of about 200 lbs each. I use liquid ferts and flourish root tabs to provide additional nutrients. My plants are growing well in fine sand.:)

pool filter sand, with a bit of flourite only because it was free:

FSM that looks amazing. I have play sand in my tank right now, playing to use some easy to grow plants. From what I've read so far, you can use sand; using liquid fertilizer or root tabs.

I need root tabs I have found flourish tabs 10 pk for 6.25 and 40pk for 19.00 plus shipping is there anymore tabs out there that are better quality and price
