Wondering if anyone was used sand for live plant and how was your experience with it,I have black sand don't know if I like it or not it really shows all the debris at the bottom of the tank,let me know thanks

I have 2 tanks with sand and live plants.Using sand is like most things,it's a personal preference.I have had it in 3 tanks,I removed it from one,and now have it in 2.I do not plan on removing it from the 2 it is in,but like you,think it shows up debris too well,so it is not something I will do again.Having live plants does not increase the debris on the sand IME.
i dont have a planted tank but i use the pool sand and love it. have it in my 300 gallon and my 55 gallon. you can get like florite for live planted tanks.
