Got some sand at a lfs but it sure does have alot of debri in it was sold to me in a bucket washed it already several times and theres still more cloudy water coming out of it. What type of sand would be good for rays? I am about to give up on getting it clean. I have already rinsed it for 3 days in a row. Is aragonite sand safe for rays?

most fine grain aragonite sand would be fine for a ray. how big is your tank? rays need a pretty large tank and pristine water.

u do not need dechlor for ro water unless have a lot of chloramine in your water. i wouldnt use play sand in any saltwater tank. any of the caribsea aragonite sand will work fine.

If you have to ask questions like this, I would get some experience before trying rays. They will need larger than a 150 very soon because of how fast the water quality will go bad feeding rays, and they need great water quality or they'll die.

A 100 to 150 and eventually a 300 plus gallon indoor pond when they outgrow the first tank. I am not starting out with adults just babies. Do you still need to use dehchlorinator with reverse osmosis water? Which sand would do best on this site? Do some of you use pool filter sand for your rays?
