I was cleaning my filter sponge tonight and looked at the bottom of the filter and there was sand all over the bottom of it? should i be worried or is this alright? i have sand as my substrate but now i'm worried that i turned the filter on too early before it settled and it may have chipped up my prop. any help??

hmm well, take out the propeler and look! if the filter dosent pump fast enough than go and buy a new one!
just clean it out and make sure it works with not to much grinding u should be ok ive done that a few times
just clean it out.. and see if it better.. usually it should be ok unless it is having trouble flowing or running.. but clean the propeller and everything and seee whats happens
it can something make the motor run hard and it will break down faster. so i say clean the propeller often or get rid of the sand =)
