Sand in my fishtank?help

Whats the dif between sand and gravel,,,,i have 2peacock bass and one arowana

? Not sure if you are asking a very basic question here or something deeper but I'll answer the very basic. Sand is very fine gravel, the stuff you find at the beach. Gravel is larger in diameter, small pebbles to larger chunks. As for what to use in you tank it's all personal choice some people prefer sand, others gravel

i like sand better than gravel in the tank
sand is easier to clean and it looks much nicer

i use pool filter sand
you can get it from any pool store it is around $10 per 50 pound bag
i like it

i switched my tanks over fairly recently and i haven't noticed a change

if you go with sand, make sure you do not have too deep a bed as it has a tendency to go anerobic as it packs down hard and can cause BIG problems

IMO i dont like sand prefer garden gravel.

what size is the tank?
