ok so my mom and dad and like all the people in mi neighborhood set up these candle things on all of the streets...and they used sand..im pretty sure it is like playground sand..is it safe to use in my pike cichlid aquarium?
sand..is this type safe?

I used play sand in my 150 but it always got nasty really quick, the sand turned black and started to loose its sand consistency and turned into a hard layer on the surface
I have switch over to pool filter sand it its much better looking and easier to clean

yes but its a pain in the butt to clean.. also its a very fine sand so it stirs up very easy and takes longer to settle
go to a pool supply store and get pool filter sand.. it cleans much easyer and has a bigger grain size.. you will like it much more and from 5 feet away you wont be able to tell the differance
