HEY THERE FOLKS. I WAS TRYING TO FIND A SUITABLE BOTTOM DWELLER FOR MY NEW FH TANK. I HEAR THAT MY FH WILL EAT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING I PUT IN THERE. EELS, CLAMS? I'M TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING THAT BURROWS IN THE SAND. I'M HOPING TO AIRATE THE SUBSTRATE ( POOL FILTER SAND) SO IT HAS LESS OF THOSE NASTY POCKETS FOR BAD MICROBES TO LURK. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR OLD ROCKIN' WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. P.S. TODAY I GOT HIM SOME CYCLOPS AND SOME JUMBO KRILL. WHEN I ASKED OVER THE PHONE FOR THE KRILL SHE SAID THEY WERE SMALL. AS IT TURNED OUT THE ARE ABOUT AND INCH APIECE. THE FISH LOVES THEM THOUGH (HE JUST HAS TO WORK AT IT A LITTLE MORE). THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, R:headbang2

It depends on your fish but I still doubt you should even try. Kuhlie Loach(sp) is the only fish I have ever used to stir sand. Why not just get a pole to stir the sand every water change? Keep the tank clean and no worries. I have sand in my FH tank and I just clean it and its all good...:)

my FH keeps turning the sand upside down by himself he just doesn't like me helping him as he attacks my hand when i try
