Sand or Gravel

I may be picking up a 135 gal aquarium with stand for $135.00 tommorow. Score. I plan on stocking with a female RTM I am currently growing out, and another tankmate to be determined later. My question is should I go gravel or sand. What would be the best choice for the fish. Price does not bother me I just want what is best for the fish. I have only ever used gravel just want some opionions on sand.

Also any tankmate suggestions for the RTM would be nice. I was looking into a cuban or something else not to common.
 
same sand is good depends what one i think you should use white sand cause the other ones change the colour of the water.
 
I wish someone would have sold me that setup for $135.00. Good ole pool filter sand is hard to beat. I generally use black backgrounds. You have potential for a nice setup.

sand... just wondering where to find that black sand? It would look great with a female rtm it would bring out all there colors
 
The only place I have found black sand is at Petsmart, but I dont know if there are any where you are from. You could always buy some online.
