Hi all, i am now thinking about the fitration for the 500g tank i am near ready to start building, i am going to build my own sump but i also have this lying sbout
tn_IMG_1189.jpg

It was used on a Koi pond and as i am not doing one know i was wondering if it would be any use in the filter system somewhere, i will be running a 3500gph pump and was thinking of using this if any use.

If it is any use what should i do with it, i was thinking of after the sump to polish the water maybe..

I don't see any reason why it can't be used. The pump will have to be in front of it if you want to backwash it. I'd also consider dispensing with the sump altogether and just using that filter.

I'm pretty sure the ponds they use these on don't have sumps though they may have skimmers for leaves or settling tanks. Since they're pressure filters, they can only be used after a sump (if they're to be in series), and even then it's rather awkward.

Find the instruction manual for that filter and see if it mentions or pictures a sump when describing how to set it up.
