sand problem

brown diatoms gone! however now i am getting greenish blotches on my pool filter sand. i assume algae but ive never used the stuff before so i dont know. new to sand, not fish. thanks for the help. sorry to sound like an idiot but this is such a great resource.

not me, IME, but in all the tanks that have I have sand in, i have a sand sifter....ie, rays, gold fish,....ect. the sand sifter i use, move the sand around a lot and the filters i use suck it up. so, i say, just move the sand around more.
