I was thinking about switch one of my tanks to the black moon sand, but was wondering does that sand settle down fast enough that i could return the fish to the tank the same day. And what are some of you guys experience withe the black moon sand. Thanks in advance.

I have the Tahitian moon sand in my feeder tank (yeah expensive sand for a tank of feeders, dont make much sense does it?) I was originally going to put some exodons in it but plans change, but to answer your question, it does settle fairly quickly, obviously the better you rinse it before you put it in the quicker it will settle, I will say I put in the sand BEFORE filling the tank so putting into an already established tank may change the results a good bit

I want to change to this sand but all tanks are full so i have to put the fish back in the same day,has anyone ever done this in one day.

I dit it in my 55 with fish in. removed half my gravel, then added sand in a cup to bottom of tank. Don't just dump in the top. Wash sand very thoroughly before adding and remember to turn filters off until sand settles

thanks was thinking along the same lines, but wasn,t sure if it would work.
