sand question

Hello MFK, Does anyone know about SILICA SAND. Can i use that in my rays tank. or someone give me a idea of what kind of sand i should use for my rays. Any comments are welcome.

It tends to make tiny cuts in the rays disc and in turn allows bacterial/fungal infections to take hold. It is best to use estes because it is a non silicate based freshwater sand.
