sand/ray/filter question..

hello, is there a "heavier" type of sand that i could keep with my rays that my aquaclear 110's wont pick up? i have had sand with my larger rays before and burnt up 3 aquaclears.. is there any advise that would help me? maybe get different filters? i really think with sand i could add my hystrix with my marbles and maybe they all would have a place to "hide". thanks

I am about to setup a tank with sand and a wet/dry I think the 100 micron filter socks should stop any sand from getting to the pump. But I will let you know for sure when i finish it

try caribsea torpedo beach or peace river. its a small gravel but very good for rays

I used peace river and I think it is perfect.

as said, filter socks will do.... i use estes and carib sea black sand.
