There's a bit of sand stuck on my senegal and idk why.. is it his slime coat? is it normal? I use tahitian moon sand if that helps

haha thats normal. sometimes sand stays on my bichir's skin too but eventually when they swim around or go to the surface to get air, the sand will come off
