Sand Substrate for rays

I really want to have a sand substrate for my ray but I need to know exactly what type of sand to be using. Preferably something cheap but wont hurt the rays.

Pool filter sand. Some people say it only works with motoros, others say it works great with anything.

I use pool filter sand, no problems here!

I've used play sand..... But it ends up costing you $ in filter parts.... Just too small.

I thought I read somewhere that using Silica sand is not good for Rays. Doesn't pool sand contain mostly Silica sand?

I think there's two options...... Quartz and silica
