I have always been a fan of a sans bottom versus a gravel bottom

My favorite is aragamax sand from caribsea. But that would cost a BUTT load of money to fill some of the aquariums here

I have kept saltwater fish in tanks with both real ocean sand as well as the premium play sand at lowes that's 3 bucks for a 50 lb bag

While the lowes play sand isn't as brown as some play sands I have seen ,one has to have 10k with a little bit of blue lights to get the sand looking white

What do you guys use?

I have read several say they use white pool filter sand and that its cheap however anywhere in Arkansas that I have looked , doesn't have white pool filter sand

Really? Are you talking like pure white?

I made the mistake of using play sand because it was the right color I wanted and spent countless hours washing 400lbs of it. Luckily I dont have a massive tank anymore so ill gladly pay the extra money for caribsea sand

I found the best deal I could on torpedo beach and just hit the order button and didn't look back. Honestly the best purchase I ever made

I did a search on torpedo sand but it came up multiple links and multiple looking sands. Nod you have a link to your torpedo sand

The sugar oolite grand caribsea sand I got was great but man. Ten times dustier than regular plays and even after washing. I blame that sand for having murky water around along time
