Sand vs gravel

I was wondering if sand helped keep the aquarium cleaner, also it seems to me like sand would be harder to clean? What are your opions

I haven't tried any of those. No idea on em but i do know its more work needed when you wanna clean the tank.

Sand needs lesser attention when cleaning as it traps dirts on the top layer of the sand. I uses sand as a substrate for my soft shell turtle with gar and big goldfish in it.

I would prefer sand as it also seems nicer in tanks than gravels

Sand allday gravel collects nasty stuff all through it sand it stays on top... Sand!!!

Is sand fine with oscars, jags, pike and such because they always dig up and spit out the gravel

Sand works great. I will never go back to rock and yes the fish move sand around just like rocks. My fish are good at decorating.
