Sand

most caribsea sands are buffering.... if you wanted a real fine layer quickcrete play sand..... but keeping the bottom bare makes life a lot easier....
 
I have used that sand. It is good sand, but expensive. It is non-buffering. Just go with pool filter sand, it will give the same look but will cost you MUCH less.
