no where
ok im debating on either getting sand or leaving my tank barebottom for easy maintance, what you all think? i can get quickrite silca sand from menards for under 5 buxs for 50# bag. so what you think? sand or leave barebottom? which is easier to maintain?

if it was anyone else but you, i would say sand... but, with all the threads i have read regarding your tank and current stock, i think you need all the help you can get. leave it bare bottom.

:iagree:

I have to agree as well, stay barebottom. You are just getting to grips with your current set up and are struggling on your media set up in the filter, no need to complicate things with sand and the maintenance with that.

Though the sand will add more surface area for bb to adhere to in the tank so it will help with your bioload. Sand is harder to clean than bare bottom but since its so cheap I always clean mine as best as I can and if I have add a bag over the course of a year to replace what I vacuumed out, then so be it.

If you are overstocked go bare bottom for sure.
