I have been finding some cool driftwood at the river lately and i was thinking of sandblasting it to clean the rotting or soft parts off. Has anyone sandblasted it before?

Yes, watch your grit size or you'll texturize the wood or blow a hole thru it :nilly: . Soft woods are more difficult, are you pulling the wood from under the water?

I've heard that it's a good idea to put it in the oven to, if it will fit. That will kill off anything thats in or on the wood. I always did that before I put them in with my reptiles. Might not be a bad idea to do it for aquariums to.
